I believe it was a juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk. My husband had to pick it up with a towel because the poor thing kept flying into the screen panels. He was stuck on the patio for around 20 minutes and then flew happily away once released. Thank God! I was so afraid it would get hurt continually flying into the screen.

Wow, what an awesome sight. It looks like the Cooper's Hawk that we had fly into our patio window! Sadly, it did not live!

I am glad the hawk was released back into the wild; I admire hawks and owls and their noble beauty.
What a beauty! I've been seeing a hawk spending time in the field behind my house over that last few weeks. Just amazing.
