What's Blooming today?

This is a delightfully scented begonia that is growing and blooming in the garden right now.

This is the Giant Apostle's Iris. Quite a beauty! The blossoms emerge out of the side of the leaf, from the same spot, continually throughout its blooming season.

I just love the leaf shape and texture of this mallow plant. I'm not exactly sure of the botanical name, but know one common name to be Tropical Hollyhock.

This is a prolific bloomer in my garden called the Glory Bower, it's in the Clerodendrum family.

This is the Angel Wing Begonia.

The color and texture of these Persian Shield leaves are a delight to touch and see.

This is a Bougainvillea that I planted a little bit too close to a large tree in my yard. The tree has turned into the trellis for this sprawling vine.

Brazilian Pink Flame, jacobinia carnea

Beautiful. My jacobinia is blooming, my bouganvillea has had not one drop of color for 3 years now. Beautiful large plant though.

The Persian Shield is great! Love the colors. I am jealous that you and Darla can grow bouganvillea there...not it a pot! We have to keep ours in a pot here and move them in during the winter, and that combination just doesn't work well for me. I do however love a jocabean plant! I got tons of them from my grandma's garden. I had a white one...but it didn't come back. Oh well, I still have my pink ones.

It's all so gorgeous! I love your garden very much. Never heard of a tropical hollyhock but it has cool looking foliage for sure.

It's fun to see what grows in your part of the country. I love the begonias! I just saw Persian Shield for the first time today at a nursery. It really is pretty plant!

Scented begonia sounds heavenly! I haven't seen Glory Bower in that colour...it's lovely! More popularly known as Bleeding Hearts here, I have them in two colours. Seeing your Persian Shield reminded me that I once had it. I must get it again! It's spectacular! Love the Iris too. It's amazing how many varieties there are...and all so beautiful! Loved them all...your blooms, I mean.
